On the cold evening of December 24, we were exploring the narrow streets around Jama Masjid in search of something delicious. That’s when we found ourselves at the famous Aslam Butter Chicken Corner – and what followed was a truly unforgettable experience.

We had our dinner there, and the moment we took the first bite of their Butter Chicken, it felt like pure magic. The flavor was so creamy, buttery, and perfectly spiced – every bite melted in the mouth.

    लहसुन – 2 कली (कुटा हुआ)

  • Ginger – 2 tbsp (crushed)
    अदरक – 2 टेबलस्पून (कुटा हुआ)

  • Onion – 2 large (chopped)
    प्याज़ – 2 बड़े (बारीक कटे)

  • Yogurt – 1 cup
    दही – 1 कप

  • Dry red chilies – 4–5
    सूखी लाल मिर्च – 4–5

  • Bay leaves – 2
    तेज पत्ता – 2

  • Whole spices – cloves, cinnamon, cardamom (2–3 each)
    साबुत मसाले – लौंग, दालचीनी, इलायची (2–3 हर एक)

  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
    हल्दी – 1 चम्मच

  • Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
    लाल मिर्च पाउडर – 1 बड़ा चम्मच

  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
    गरम मसाला – 1 छोटा चम्मच

  • Salt – to taste
    नमक – स्वादानुसार

  • Wheat dough – for sealing
    गेहूं का आटा – सील करने के लिए


👨‍🍳 Method | बनाने की विधि:

  1. Marinate the Mutton
    Mix mutton with garlic, ginger, yogurt, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Let it rest for 2 hours or overnight.
    मटन को लहसुन, अदरक, दही, हल्दी, मिर्च पाउडर, गरम मसाला और नमक के साथ मिलाएं। इसे 2 घंटे या रातभर मेरिनेट होने दें।

  2. Prepare the Tempering
    Heat mustard oil till smoky. Add bay leaves, whole spices, and chopped onions. Fry until golden brown.
    सरसों के तेल को तेज़ आंच पर गरम करें जब तक धुआं न निकलने लगे। फिर तेज पत्ता, साबुत मसाले और प्याज़ डालकर सुनहरा होने तक भूनें।

  3. Load the Handi
    Add the marinated mutton to a clay pot. Pour the tempering over it.
    मेरिनेट किया हुआ मटन हांडी में डालें और ऊपर से तड़का डालें।

  4. Seal It
    Cover the pot and seal with dough.
    ढक्कन लगाएं और आटे से सील कर दें।

  5. Cook Slowly
    Place the sealed handi on low flame or charcoal. Cook for 2–3 hours. Don’t open in between!
    हांडी को धीमी आंच या कोयले पर रखें और 2–3 घंटे तक पकने दें। बीच में बिल्कुल न खोलें।

  6. Serve Hot
    Once opened, the aroma is absolutely divine!

😋 My Food Experience | मेरा खाने का अनुभव

When I tasted their fish, I was genuinely amazed.
जब मैंने इनकी फिश खाई, तो मैं सच में हैरान रह गया।

There was almost no heavy coating — just a light crispy layer, and yet the flavor was so deep and intense that even now as I write this, my mouth is watering!
इस पर जरा भी भारी लेप नहीं था, बस एक हल्की सी क्रिस्पी कोटिंग थी, और फिर भी स्वाद इतना ज़बरदस्त था कि मैं ये लिखते हुए भी मुंह में पानी आ रहा है।

The texture was soft like barfi, and the spices had soaked into the fish so perfectly that it felt like the flavor was coming from inside out.
इसका टेक्सचर बिलकुल बर्फी जैसा मुलायम था, और मसाले इतने अच्छे से अंदर तक समा गए थे कि ऐसा लग रहा था जैसे स्वाद अंदर से बाहर आ रहा हो।

One more special thing — they only use mustard oil, which gives a true Punjabi desi punch.
एक खास बात और – यहाँ सिर्फ सरसों के तेल में तली जाती है मछली, जो कि एकदम देसी पंजाबी तड़का देता है।
